Well I just finished my first play through of Mass Effect 3 and I have to say over all I think it's a superior game to ME2, I didn't encounter any real bugs beyond one that was more annoying than game breaking and really did enjoy playing it. Now I know a lot of people are complaining about the endings of the game and I will say I am a bit on the fence with them while I thought they were mostly good they weren't what I would of liked but hey can't have every thing your way now can you. But I will say that the Red ending was a bit of a let down and I can't really say why with out giving some spoilers so I won't say any thing here for a couple of days at least.

I will say that the environments and how they changed your squad mates alone make this a better game, no longer are the environments clean and sterile they look well more real lived in to me they just felt much more natural so kuddos to the level artists. As for your squad mates they now.... move around the ship no longer do you find them in the same spot all the time doing the same thing over and over, they wander around the ship talking with each other and honestly again it made it them seem so much more like real people. And not until I started my second game did I realize some thing important there costumes have an actual effect on them. I clicked on info when I was picking a squad mate and I noticed that there current outfit gave them a bonus so I switched to another and yes a different bonus showed up. And my only thought was wow this made so much sense I wish they had thought of it sooner.

As for the combat yes it's been ramped up as they said normal is the new veteran but I loved the added challenge and how they improved the powers all thou I still don't see much use in the cryo powers out side of the multiplayer aspect which is fun in it's own right. So I will heartily suggest that people give this game a try but I will warn you that it is darkers and several characters do die in the game and this is one of the few games that really got me emotionally.... uuhhhh not sure what to say so I'll say it got my emotions stirring.

I'm still on my first run of the game (gotta sleep SOME times, you know.... I'm impressed you've already had time to start a second game) but I agree with you. So far it really feels superior to ME2. I'm most likely going to start over the first game after this, try to see which of the three games I prefer. It's been ages since I last played ME1.

I was pissed at some deaths the game threw at me so far but... you know, I guess it's all part of the terrible war going on.

Now you got me curious about the endings. Can't wait to see it and make my own judgement.

Well knowing that it would eat at me until I played through it at least once I booked a couple of days off for when it came out so I had time to hammer away at it, and yeah beyond the still some what buggy cover systems it's a good game. As for the deaths yeah you'll find the theme for the game is very heavy in self sacrifice. But it does have a few light hearted moments to help break things up like the end fate of Conrad Verner.

Yeah...

Just beat the game a first time and... Ending is seriously disappointing. I had huuuuge hopes considering how good the rest of the story was. I hope the ending unlocked after a second playthrough is better or heads will roll *evil laugh*

True but they due make it pretty clear the whole theme for the game is self sacrifice, forcing you to make all sorts of hard choices as to who lives and who dies, I've seen a couple of good explanations about the ending. But yeah even with out giving us a Disney happy ending they could of done a better job I think in explaining it all a bit to much dues ex machina.

well personnally I mostly don't mind the theme and the idea they had for the endings... Rather I just think they reaaaallly poorly executed them. I had around 3500 efficient war assets at the end of the game (6000+ in total) so I had access to the three basic, generally "good" endings, and I checked all of them.

What really insulted me is that the only major difference between the three ending videos is the color of the special effects. You get a very generic view of what happens after your choice and then a quick and incomplete view of your teammates, always with very lazy animations...

It's really disappointing considering how everything else THROUGHOUT the series was always so well executed. They never half-assed any story-line and the endings of the two last games were really satisfying.

It's supposed to be the conclusion of Mass Effect, I can't understand why they rushed the ending like that. Nothing else was rushed story-wise. It just feels like they ran short on time and had to rush what was left to be done... And for some dumb reason that last thing was the most important part of the game : the conclusion to it.

I can understand that, the endings did leave me confused at first but yeah they were honestly
as you say just to short they could of made them longer to better explain things some monologue
wouldn't of hurt either.

That's it. I mean, the game is still great, it's just a shame the ending leaves you with such a "bitter" aftertaste. And I don't mean that the ending was a downer or anything, just that it feels cheap.

I can get all the angry comments raising on the internet these days, althought I don't think the Mass Effect series should be looked down for it.

I hear you there, I just listen to the rantings of some people and can only think of spoiled children tugging at there parent's pants screaming for more candy. All thou it has had some good effects. [link] which also has a link to a vote on the bioware forums to try to get them to change the ending to suit them. XP

That and a vote saying that the whole normandy in FTL at the end was just plain odd and made no sense which got my vote. Hopefully they forthcoming DLC will help with things but even on my second and now third play through I am finding or learning new things. Which is why I enjoy this series so much and it saddens me that they likely won't try some thing so ambitious again or so they say but given the money it's made that may change there mind.
